Umbrella Combo Contest 2022 Winners | Skullgirls Mobile

There were over 6 hours of combos submitted to the contest, but our 5 winners have FINALLY been chosen!

*How did we choose our winners?*

The point of this contest was not to see super practical and useful combos - we wanted to see INTERESTING AND CREATIVE combos. The wilder and more varied the combo, the more likely we were to choose it! Umbrella naturally lends herself to long, long combos, but combo length or damage dealt were not the most important things we were looking for. INTERESTING AND CREATIVE were key.

There were a couple of other rules: the combo must exclusively use Umbrellas, and the combo counter can never turn red.

Also note, there was no 1st or 2nd places. All entries are graded equally as our 5 favorite entries.

*Here's some notes on why we chose these entries:*

*Argila:* This combo is a masterpiece of planning. The combo spans 3 Umbrellas, and each Umbrella does a unique combo staying exclusively in one of Umbrella's 3 Hunger states: Ravenous, Satiated and Overstuffed.

*Nojkata:* This may appear pretty standard on the surface, but it's packed with lots of cute and unusual interactions, like comboing using Umbrella's standard grab, activating her Prestige Ability mid combo, and even comboing into Umbrella's unique 3rd charge level Charge Attack. There's something new packed in on every re-watch!

*FireRain:* This combo has the perfect title "Let's go for a walk" as Umbrella almost lazily carries the opponent across the full screen with a series of Projection Lenses. Comboing using Bursts is just the icing on the cake!

*Killem:* There were a few entries that used the not-a-bug-it's-a-feature "reverse screen carry" technique, but Killem's stood out from the crowd. It was actually difficult to pick just ONE of Killem's many amazing entries for this contest.

*Popopo:* And I thought Fresh Heir's trailer had a lot of home run wall bounces! This combo is actually a functioning infinite combo (though the setup is so awkward you're not likely to ever see it in a fight), and Popopo lands over 20 home run bats in this clip to pull it off!
