Greg Alba, John Humphrey & Jon Maturan react to and review Ted Season 2, Episodes 7 & 8 — “Susan is the New Black” and “Fraudcast News.” Seth MacFarlane’s outrageous Peacock comedy continues to mix absurd humor with surprisingly heartfelt family moments as the Bennetts deal with consequences, responsibility, and growing pains.

In “Susan is the New Black,” Susan Bennett (Alanna Ubach — Legally Blonde, Euphoria) takes the fall after being arrested for weed that actually belongs to John (Max Burkholder — Parenthood, The Purge) and Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane — Family Guy, Ted), leading to her unexpected stint in prison. While John and Ted struggle hilariously to manage Susan’s responsibilities at home—making a complete mess of things—Susan wins over fellow inmates with her kindness, turning the prison into a surprisingly wholesome environment. The episode blends chaos and heart as Susan proves just how far she’ll go to protect her family. Episode 8, “Fraudcast News,” jumps ahead as John struggles with direction after high school, prompting Matty (Scott Grimes — The Orville, American Dad!) to call him out—only to suffer a heart attack shortly after. When the O.J. Simpson verdict threatens to stress him out again, John, Ted, and Blaire (Giorgia Whigham — 13 Reasons Why, The Punisher) go to ridiculous lengths to shield him by creating fake news broadcasts and a fabricated reality. The scheme spirals into absurdity, but ultimately leads to a heartfelt moment between John and Matty about motivation and potential.
