Movie Club: Project Hail Mary

Today on Movie Club, we’re doing something a little different. Instead of breaking down a movie, we’re diving into Andy Weir’s hit sci-fi novel Project Hail Mary and discussing the story, the characters, and what we think the upcoming film adaptation will look like on the big screen. With Ryan Gosling set to star and the movie currently in development, this could be one of the most exciting sci-fi adaptations in years.

We’ll talk about the major story elements of the book (with SPOILERS), the themes that make the novel so compelling, and which parts of the story we think the filmmakers will keep or change when translating it into a movie. From the relationship at the center of the story to the big science concepts and emotional moments, we’ll break down what made the book special and how it might translate to cinema.
