Is Maid Pomni CANON? New Digital Circus Japanese Merch

Did you know this in the amazing digital circus?

During episode 5 we saw a fan favourite moment being when jax wore a maid outfit. Recently we found out through official merch what pomni would look like if she wore the outfit instead. Let me explain.

So i’ve covered this before but the digital circus is very popular in japan so they get exclusive merch drops and collections.

Yesterday a new item was revealed, being maid pomni.

There’s a couple interesting details about it. Firstly in the western version of the maid jax plush, the heart on his chest is a cutout you can see his skin underneath. In the japanese version it’s instead a darker purple. Maid pomni is the same, her heart is a unique red colour.

Her expression is also totally different to jax’s. Jax is freaking out, while pomni seems completely fine, she’s more puzzled and is instead reacting to what jax is doing which is pretty on brand.

Personally I think this is canon. It’s official merch, and this is likely how pomni would react to wearing the outfit. Though obviously we’ll probably never see this get depicted in the show which is unfortunate.

Also since the item is exclusive it’s already getting scalped which isn’t surprising. I’m a little surprised this is japan exclusive because this item would literally fly off shelves everywhere else, so maybe they’ll eventually release it worldwide.
