'GMA's' Sam Champion Returns On Air After Urgent Life-Saving Heart Procedure

"Good Morning America" meteorologist Sam Champion is on the mend and back on air. The broadcaster returned to "GMA" on March 25 after an emergency heart procedure that left him absent from the show for two days. Sam had sparked fan concern when he posted a photo from his hospital bed, and he delivered an important message to "GMA" viewers about the sudden symptom that alerted him something was wrong. The 64-year-old explained that he began experiencing shortness of breath over the weekend and his doctor recommended a nuclear stress test that ultimately saved his life. Though Sam noted that he embraces a healthy and active lifestyle, he wasn't the only one to observe that his breathing had changed. "GMA" co-anchor Robin Roberts shared that she'd picked up on Sam's shortness of breath while traveling with him and his husband.
