Disney Movie to Indoctrinate Kids

Disney Pixar's Hoppers was released on March 6th, 2026. The film follows Mabel, a nineteen-year-old environmental activist who uses experimental consciousness-transfer technology to inhabit a robotic beaver body and infiltrate a forest animal society. Critics have called it a return to form for Pixar. Audiences love it too. What a great turn of events for the Walt Disney Company, right?

Well, I’ve seen the film. And while it presents itself as “too much for kids” in execution, like it doesn’t have the sincerity of Pixar films of years past, within this film’s narrative, themes, and design, I found something very troubling. Hoppers is a carefully constructed vehicle for ideological messaging aimed at an audience that lacks the developmental capacity to recognize or resist it. Pixar's core demographic is children between four and ten years old. These are viewers who are still forming a moral framework; their understanding of consequences and relationships and emotional regulation is very much incomplete, absorbing the messaging of movies, television, and entertainment with limited ability to critically filter it. Kids are sponges; we know this.

Hoppers' comedic tone and colorful animation are a smokescreen featuring a narrative that undermines personal accountability, devalues human relationships, normalizes self-destructive zealotry, and desensitizes viewers to violence.
