Why the One Piece Live-Action’s Black Vivi Actually Makes Perfect Sense

One Piece fans are the biggest hypocrite. so much that they are hateing Vivi just because she’s black. But here are two reasons why Vivi’s black color in the second season of the One Piece live action makes perfect sense.

First, Vivi will be played by Theresa Chandra, a British Indian actress. Some people are upset that the Alabastans will be portrayed by Indian actors instead of white actors, since Vivi had white skin in the anime. But here’s the thing Alabasta and One Piece draw heavily from Egyptian and Indian culture. In fact, Alabasta seems strongly inspired by the Indian city of Jodhpur, and even the Alabasta Palace resembles the Taj Mahal.

That makes it completely reasonable for the live action to cast Alabastans as Egyptian or Indian characters. And if that still doesn’t make sense to you, remember this—Oda, the creator of One Piece, personally handpicked every live action character. So if you think you know better than the creator himself about who should be white or black, maybe it’s time to rethink your argument.
