Things you may have missed in Helluva Boss Shorts 4 MISSION: CHUPACABRAS

Today the latest helluva boss short titled mission chupacabras released. Like per usual there’s a bunch of secrets and easter eggs hidden in the background that you might’ve missed. I’ll break it down.

So just like with the other shorts we get a little factfile at the start of the short with some lore. We see a photo of blitz in the woods and beside him is some info on the target.

The target is gerardo velazquez and he lives in a farm outside tijuana in mexico. He’s a middle aged man and smells strongly of tequila and hay.

The bit at the bottom is written by blitz and he says that he can’t speak spanish but the client is making alot of hand motions so the guy must be a freak.

Gerardo is voiced by Jorge R. Gutiérrez. You might recognise him as The creator of El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, Maya and the Three & The Book of Life.

Gerardo drinks out of a bottle with a little goat head at the bottom and he has a cactus on the side of his gun.

When his drink smashes we see an insect fall out along with a lime. This means that gerardo was drinking a mexican spirit called mezcal.

Gerardo’s wife is voiced by monica franco who you’ll recognise as the pilot voice actor of vaggie, alongside a tonne of other roles in helluva boss.

When blitz is captured and wakes up he’s wearing a funny outfit and is called the chupacabra. The chupacabra who’s name literally translates to goat sucker is a well known cryptid creature that drinks the blood of livestock, especially goats.

Agent 1 and 2 were undercover in a poorly disguised taco truck, with matching sombreros.

Blitz’s gun has some sort of heating ability. Perhaps if a non demon tries to use it it’ll burn them.

On agent one’s badge it says, “your text here”.

And last but not least blitz gives the baby goat a good job imp sticker. This causes the goat to become a cult leader, a pretty clear reference to the roguelike video game cult of the lamb.
