The Digital Circus was originally much DARKER

Did you know this in the amazing digital circus?

Today over on tumblr the shows creator gooseworx revealed that originally the show was going to have alot more violence, especially surrounding ragatha. Let me explain.

So gooseworx was answering fan questions, one fan asked if there was any interesting concepts for the show that got cut during development.

Goose replied, saying that Ragatha was originally going to be subject to a lot more violence and she was gonna have plush organs.

In a follow up reply, goose elaborated, saying that this aspect of ragatha was cut because it was difficult finding ways to work it into episodes naturally.

We can actually see this in original concept art from goose, we can see ragatha holding onto her intestines which are spilling out of her stomach.

This idea also ended up being used in the fan au called duffy’s digital circus if you’ve heard of that.

So personally i actually think this would’ve been a really neat detail. We do see some violence in the show, but nothing that’s too gruesome.

Like goose said it was difficult to find an opportunity to include it. I think they sort of reused this idea with the knife scene in 8 however.

I also just think that ragatha already gets picked on enough. She’s an adorable character, i think seeing too much violence against her would upset alot of viewers especially younger fans.
