Neve Campbell is back as Sidney Prescott in Spyglass Media Group’s upcoming Scream 7, and she’s bringing her daughter along in the new Ghostface horror movie. Isabel May is confirmed to play Sidney’s daughter, Tatum in the sequel. Courteney Cox, McKenna Grace, Celeste O'Connor, Anna Camp, and Asa Germann round out the scream 7 cast.

Scream 7 films in January 2025 and will hit theaters on February 27, 2026 with an official scream 7 trailer expected next summer.

Original Scream scribe Kevin Williamson will direct Scream 7. The film was written by Guy Busick from a story by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick who also wrote Scream 5 and Scream 6.

According to Neve Campbell, the upcoming Scream 7 trailer will be a return to the franchise’s roots in the sense that Sidney Prescott will be the central character of the movie. Isabel May’s casting certainly supports scream 7 leaks that and also indicates a huge time jump. At least, considering that Sidney sat out Scream 6 to take care of her small children. Either way, Scream 7 seems to make Ghostface slaying a family affair.

Courteney Cox is returning as Gale Weathers and Patrick Dempsey is expected to return as Mark Kincaid but hasn’t officially signed on yet.

Sidney was featured as a supporting character in 2022’s Scream 5, while Campbell infamously did not return for the following year’s Scream 6 due to a pay dispute. Those two movies, both directed by the filmmakers Radio Silence (Abigail), mixed a new generation of characters with the legacy characters, but much has happened since Scream 6 was released last year.

The scream franchise has been mired in controversy in the past several months, with new series leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega both exiting the project. Barrera was fired, while it was subsequently announced that Ortega wouldn’t be returning. At this time, we still don’t know if Jasmin Savoy Brown or Mason Gooding will be returning for крик 7.
