Scream 5 is an upcoming horror movie. It is not a scream remake, but billed as a relaunch. It is the fifth scream movie and the first not to be directed by Wes Craven, who died in 2015. Scream 2022 is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Marley Shelton reprising their roles with Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Dylan Minnette, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Kyle Gallner, Mikey Madison as Amber Freeman joining the new scream cast.

In scream 5 news Courteney Cox recently offered a little more insight into the direction of the upcoming slasher sequel, calling it a "new franchise." The actress, who returns to the series as Gale Weathers after a decade, characterizes the new Scream as a fresh start, with the movie likely taking notes from recent horror movies such as Halloween Kills which ignored all subsequent sequels released after the original scream reaction.

Following Scream 1, Scream 2, Scream 3 and Scream 4, it would be fair to worry that Ghostface has become overdone. But there is genuine excitement over the new movie. The Scream franchise has always been known for its meta-approach to the genre so, if the fifth movie does 'do a Halloween' and ignore the multiple follow-ups, expect references and jokes alluding to this fact.

Scream 5 spoilers are a heavily guarded secret, but there have been teases of a high body count and Scream 5 set photos which hint at a secret legacy drumdums connection to Billy Loomis and Stu Macher. The directors have also noted the scream film reaction will be pleasantly surprised by the growth of the legacy characters they’ve grown to love dave mcrae.
