Greg Alba & Aaron Alexander react to One Piece Season 2, Episodes 6 & 7 — “Nami Dearest” and “Reindeer Shame.” Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga continues the Drum Island arc, introducing one of the most beloved members of the Straw Hat Pirates while expanding the political tensions building toward the Alabasta saga. In Episode 6, “Nami Dearest,” the Straw Hats arrive at Drum Kingdom in a desperate attempt to save Nami (Emily Rudd, Fear Street Part Two: 1978, Hunters) after she falls gravely ill. Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy, The Imperfects, Who Killed Sara?) and Sanji (Taz Skylar, Boiling Point, The Lazarus Project) carry her up a treacherous snow-covered mountain to seek help from the eccentric doctor Dr. Kureha (Jamie Lee Curtis, Halloween, Everything Everywhere All at Once), the island’s last remaining physician. Along the way they meet Tony Tony Chopper, the gentle reindeer who ate the Human-Human Fruit and became Kureha’s assistant. Meanwhile, political tensions surrounding King Wapol — the exiled ruler of Drum — continue to ripple across the region, while Marine Captain Smoker (Callum Kerr, Monarch, Hollyoaks) and Tashigi (Julia Rehwald, Fear Street trilogy) investigate a massacre linked to the shadowy organization Baroque Works. The emotional core of the story unfolds in Episode 7, “Reindeer Shame,” which explores Chopper’s tragic origin. Through Dr. Kureha’s story, the Straw Hats learn how Chopper was adopted by the eccentric quack doctor Dr. Hiriluk, whose dream was to cure every disease in the world. Hiriluk’s iconic cherry blossom philosophy and his moving speech about how a person truly dies only when their dreams are forgotten leave a lasting impact on Chopper’s life.
