From producers John Carpenter and Jason Blum blumfest, Halloween Kills is the first of two sequels to Halloween 2018 and is the twelfth installment in the Halloween movie franchise.

The film is directed by David Gordon Green and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Kyle Richards, Nancy Stephens, Charles Cyphers, Will Patton, Dylan Arnold, Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney reprising their roles from the 2018 and Halloween 1978 films, with Anthony Michael Hall, Thomas Mann, and Robert Longstreet joining the cast as Tommy Doyle and Lonnie Elam.

Laurie Strode won't be the central figure fighting Michael Myers in Halloween Kills. If Halloween 2018 was the examination of Laurie Strode's was fundamentally affected by her experience with Michael Myers, the sequel takes that impact and expands it to all of Haddonfield.

As the enraged community rises up to take matters into their own hands, the film is sure to take advantage of the divisions running through the small town as a community will likely tear itself apart. It's clear that the modern trilogy doesn't want to be a complete rehash as the original films, and broadening the scope onto the new Strode family is an effective way to do that. Laurie is still a key face of the franchise, but there needs to be more to the plot than her going up against Michael over and over again dave mcrae and danielle harris.

Four decades have passed, so it might be time for a new final girl to emerge in the Halloween movie universe. While fans likely would mourn the loss of Laurie Strode, it almost seems inevitable. Not only that, but given the fact that Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends have been marketed as the end of the Michael Myers and Laurie Strode story, there needs to be a sense of permanence to make sense of the massive retcon that took place with Halloween 2018.
