Now that the lawsuit between Victor Miller and Sean S Cunningham has settled, it appears a new Crystal Lake tv show is coming to Peacock.

Jason Voorhees may be one of the most famous horror villains of all time. But as all Friday the 13th fans know, his mother Pamela was the killer in the first movie, which revealed that the drowned Jason had somehow survived under the waters of Crystal Lake for years. The supernatural Jason then rampaged through ten friday the 13th movies and one remake.

After such a long absence, Jason's appeal feels outdated to some viewers. As one of the only classic horror movie franchises without a 2020s reboot, Friday the 13th is long overdue for another reinvention with Kane Hodder as Jason.

While a new Friday the 13th 2023 horror movie is unlikely, Crystal Lake - the Friday the 13th Peacock series coming from Bryan Fuller might start filming in summer 2024.
