Will there be a new friday the 13th movie? Jason Voorhees has had a turbulent few decades. After Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X, he was resurrected for Freddy vs. Jason - all before the Friday the 13th 2009 reboot. Before the friday the 13th lawsuit which put the rights to the franchise in question, Paramount was working on the 13th friday trailer.

First, they hired Chucky TV series producer Nick Antosca to pen a new Jason movie set in the 80's called Friday the 13th 3D. Paramount instead settled on a 3c films script by Aaron Guzikowksi titled Friday the 13th Part 13. The plan was for that movie - a Jason origin story, to film in 2018 and reboot the iconic horror movie franchise, but Paramount pulled the plug last minute.

Given how horror movie reboots like Halloween Ends, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022, Scream 5, Candyman 2021, viernes 13 2022 have done, you'd best believe Hollywood would already be on a new Jason Voorhees 2022 movie.
