Did Glitch Productions STEAL Fan Art For The New Knights Of Guinevere Merch?

Recently there’s been a controversy involving glitch productions, knights of guinevere and accusations of plagiarism. What’s going on? Let me explain.

So the other day a free sticker set was revealed that you could get if you bought the new knights of guinevere hardcover art book.

One of the stickers is gwen doing the goober meme format which i’m sure everyone has seen before.

The original creator of the meme nillo responded to the announcement, asking them to not sell their work for profit. In a follow up reply they say they reached out on instagram and got no response.

So basically glitch traced over the art piece without crediting the original artist. The original artist wants compensation and credit.

All of this blew up on twitter, with plenty of fans upset at glitch about the whole thing, wanting a response.

So personally i think glitch is in the wrong here, they made a mistake. However not to defend them but i didn’t realise this meme format had a creator, and i think alot of people will think the same way.

So it’s reasonable to say that glitch just didn’t know that the format was owned by someone, so they did it without thinking.

They definitely should’ve done their research however.

Alot of people have already bought this merch and they’ve been printed already, so i don’t think glitch will cancel orders or refund people. They’ll probably issue a response and credit the artist, which would be a fine resolution in my opinion.
