DAY 4: Crossbows

In Half Sword, crossbows aren’t just animated, they’re simulated. Every part of the weapon follows real physics: the limbs flex under tension, the string strains with stored energy, and the bolt releases with true mechanical force.

The result isn’t a preset animation but a system that behaves like a real crossbow would, responsive, unpredictable, and satisfying to master.
