EDITOR NOTE ✏️ Okay, so here’s the deal — when I started thinking about a sequel to The Minecraft Movie, it felt obvious not to do the Ender Dragon in the first one. Like, it’s the final boss. The crown jewel. You don’t blow that right out the gate.

But for the second movie? Oh, we’re going there.

I chose The End because it just feels right for a sequel. You’ve introduced the world. You’ve met the characters. Now it’s time to expand things — up the stakes, explore the lore, and give fans what they’ve been waiting for.

Plus, The End is such an iconic part of Minecraft — eerie, mysterious, and home to the most intimidating mob in the game. It gives the sequel a darker edge without losing the fun. And narratively? It lets us pair the emotional arc of Henry’s creativity with Alex’s unfinished journey. It’s personal and epic.

Also… a giant talking dragon. I mean, come on. That’s just good cinema.
